I’m showing some of the mental processes leading to her final narrative. It’s a trial and error construction delivery with the goal of exhibiting the happiest and saddest contradiction in the same moment of time.

I positioned her in an 1880s cold steel dental chair and then built to that emotionally charged feeling. The excitement of marriage and the controlled restrictions of the dental chair… a metaphor for an unhappy future. I have a picture in mind of the end result, but achieving that emotional feeling required me to commission another wonderful artist (Gemma X McDonald in the UK) to make this gorgeous dress. She designed the entire dress based on my measurements with period-correct lace, fabric, roses, embroidery… simply beautiful.
