The rare wood, Ziricote, has a very unique appearance, which is sometimes referred to as “spider-webbing” or “landscape” grain figure.

This sculpture was very difficult to cut and polish as the wood is very dense like ebony—I don’t believe it floats in water, it sinks—even power tools find cutting, sanding, and polishing a task; it tends to burn.
