This sculpture began as a very magical object. It uses a beautiful old leather leg prosthetic from an old war veteran who lost his leg.
I’m drawn to these architectural objects because they are inherently an operational object made by a skilled artisan.
The head of a mannequin was cut down and fitted at the upper thigh. I collaborated with a lady in the UK who sewed the period-correct shaggy dress.
