Ziricote, the wood used in this piece was the impetus for my sculpture because it’s a beautiful hardwood-like ebony—but with brownish-gray streaks—hard as a rock.
I saw the figure kneeling with her butt on her ankles and her arms raised to hold her hair—stainless steel braided wire. A very simple figure in a minimalist abstracted pose.
