I’ve stated before I’m driven by objects, which in this case is a beautiful Victorian birdcage but I’ve never liked caged birds. If I’d had a lot of cats I may have used them. What I did have in my studio were baby dolls. So I traveled to the Alameda Antique Faire on Alameda Island and purchased about 30 old vintage dolls. I had fun stuffing them inside from a hole cut in the cage and gluing as I stuffed. Ironically I had very few leftovers and gave them to a couple young girls… they were very amused at my creation.
