This piece took form after I discovered a six-foot maple tree with huge burls rotting in a lumberyard. It was structurally unsound, so I wrapped the center with fiberglass and overlaid the glass with 5,500 wood mosaic pieces (zebrawood detail below). The arms and suggested face were the final additions.
