Don Quixote

#S001

Detail 2

This seven-foot African sorcerer began as a vintage nude female mannequin. However, like all art, sometimes the long journey takes an abrupt turn and I simply followed the voice. This dynamic resolution brought fortune in the form of the medicine man, a magical sorcerer.

His amalgamation of antique accouterments is endless. eBay was a treasure trove of skulls, war weapons, arrows, daggers, masks, African trade beads, a civil war prosthetic leg, and a tattooed painted left arm off a mannequin. The antique carved monkey skull with trade beads is from Borneo. Snakeskin cowboy boots are from Texas and the porcupine quills are from Zimbabwe. Silver spurs from Durango, Colorado, and an antique African mask from Nigeria. A unique aesthetic to any bedroom…
