The Queen

As is often the case, my focus falls on a particular object which drives the direction or construction of a piece. 

In the assemblage below, I found a yellow jacket hornet nest (I have great respect for hornets as I’m highly allergic to the sting) and thus began my journey in wood. The Queen is a narrative of home, music, and guardians, the soldiers. Made of white holly, ebony, Bubinga, and maple wood.
