I bought the incredible walnut, ebony, and abalone open frame in France, intending to build this assemblage with my mother's, Carol Standefer’s, clay faces. The entire background is 1970s Nicole Miller silk ties. My goal was to accentuate my mother's carvings and emphasize the entire surroundings like a kaleidoscope.
